Cost vs. Value Report
The Cost vs. Value report is compiled annually by Remodeling Magazine. It compares the average costs of typical remodeling projects across over 100 U.S. markets, as well as their residual value at resale. Linked below are figures for the Philadelphia/Mid-Atlantic Region which includes South Jersey.

According to the 2025 Cost vs. Value Report, Philadelphia-area homeowners recoup up to 257% of project costs on select renovations at resale. Garage door replacements lead the region at 257.2%, followed by steel entry door replacements at 252.8% and manufactured stone veneer at 168.1%. Fiber-cement siding and minor kitchen remodels also exceed 100% cost recouped, at 109.2% and 113.0%, respectively. In total, five projects in the Philadelphia/Mid-Atlantic market return more than their original cost — making project selection an important factor in any renovation decision.
